Nordic Trail Conditions

Grand Lake Nordic Center grooms every trail  every night!  We groom the trails overnight starting around midnight and finishing around 9 am. Trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing.

Ski trails are becoming typical of springtime conditions; trail conditions are usually better in the morning, and becoming slushy in the sunshine in the afternoon, and icy in the shade.  We have closed several of the more advanced trails due to lack of snow and trail degeneration: Janice’s Jaunt, the River Loop (on the west side of the bridge), the one-way section of Spirit’s Haunt, Serpentine and Short Cut are now closed for the season.  We do continue to groom every night, including setting track for Classic skiing.  We still anticipate staying open through the first weekend of April, with a closing date of Sunday, April 2nd.  Stay tuned for more trail condition updates, or check in with the Nordic Center staff.
