The Nordic Center is now closed. Thanks to everyone for a great 2015-2016 season!
The Nordic Center will reopen sometime in November of 2016 (weather permitting) so check back in the spring for updates regarding next season's line up of special events.

Saturday, December 12 ~ Local's Appreciation Day

All Grand County residents and second home owners will receive a free trail pass for use on this special day! Rentals will be at the regular price of $16. 


Sunday, December 20 ~ Free Lessons by The Grand Nordic Club

Lessons at 10:00am & 1:00pm, all levels, all ages, advance sign up required. This event features free Nordic ski lessons offered by the Grand Nordic Club. Classic and skate skiing lessons for adults and children will be offered throughout the day. Ski rentals, lessons and trail passes are free to Grand Nordic Club members. Non-members will still receive a free lesson but will be charged a $10 trail pass fee and a $10 equipment rental fee. You will have the opportunity to become a member at the event in order to ski free that day. Advance registration is required for the free lesson day. Please register by calling the Grand Lake Nordic Center at 970-627-8008.


Saturday, December 26 ~ Full Moon Ski | 5pm - 9pm

Join us for a Full Moon Ski event featuring adult beverages at the bonfire, in addition to the usual complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows! Plus red chili will be served in the lodge from 5pm to 9pm. Trail passes will be only $10 and rentals will be $10 - or - if you skied that day your trail pass is good for the evening!


Saturday, January 16 ~ Guided Snowshoe Hike | 11:30am

Join a local naturalist to explore the forest, animals and ecology surrounding the Grand Lake Nordic Center. Learn how to use snowshoes and how to survive in winter on this 1.5 hour, 1.5 mile hike. Soup and chili are available for purchase afterward in the Nordic Center’s Sly Fox Restaurant. Trail passes for this event are $10, and rentals are $16; there is no additional cost to attend this event. Please call ahead at 970-627-8008 to reserve snowshoes if you need to rent.


Saturday, January 23 ~ Full Moon Ski | 5pm - 9pm

Join us for a Full Moon Ski event featuring adult beverages at the bonfire, in addition to the usual complimentary hot chocolate and marshmallows! We are celebrating Valentine's Day with a 2-for-1 Trail Pass deal. Bring your sweetie out for a special day in the beautiful outdoors!

Romp & Stomp for Grand County Pet Pals

Join us at the Nordic Center with your furry friends for a great fundraising event in support of the Grand County Pet Pals and their mission toward promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter campaign. $10 per person and for $5 more you can use the Nordic trails all day on the day of the event. There will be a silent auction, hot cocoa and desserts to enjoy too! For more details about the event or Grand County Pet Pals, please visit gcpetpals.org


Saturday, February 27 ~ Foxy Freestyle Nordic Race

Join us for a freestyle Nordic Race to benefit the National Sports Center for the Disabled Competitive Nordic Program. All proceeds from the event will go to the NSCD!


Sunday, March 13 ~ Interact Freestyle Nordic Race for Chris Cox | 10am

The Nordic Center is happy to be able to host a fundraiser on Sunday, March 13 for Christopher Cox, a senior at Middle Park High School who is undergoing a bone marrow transplant. All proceeds go to the Cox family for Chris' medical expenses. The event is sponsored by the Interact Club at Middle Park High School.

  • 5k and 10k races for everyone! Start time: 5k at 10:30 AM 10k at 10:45 AM
  • 2k for the beginners! Start Time: 10 AM
  • Registration from 8:30 to 9:30 AM
  • 7$ for 2k 15$ for 5 and 10k
    Donations greatly appreciated!

Join us and learn about the winter in the mountains, ecology and local wildlife! No pre-registration required. Guided hike is free; regular trail fee and rental fees apply.
